Title 1-A
Title I-A is a federal program that provides financial assistance to schools to help students from low-income families. It's part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
Purpose & Overview
- Title I-A is a federally funded program designed to support students in the academic areas of reading, writing and math.
- Funding is allocated by the state based on school poverty rates. River Grove has applied and received this grant since 1996. At this time, River Grove Elementary is the only school in Lake Oswego to receive these additional funds.
- River Grove has a school-wide Title I-A model, which means all students are eligible for services. Decisions regarding extra support are based solely on academic need, not financial need. Additional instructional support is provided through a push-in or pull-out model, based on student need.
